Refunds
Refund and Cancellation Policy
Effective: 7 May 2026
At a glance
- You can cancel your subscription at any time from the in-app billing portal.
- Cancellation stops the next renewal — you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Statutory 14-day right to cancel (UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) applies to consumers, but is waived as soon as you start using the service — see the digital-content notice below.
- Outside that window, fees are non-refundable except where required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or where we agree a goodwill refund.
How to cancel
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from the in-app billing surface, which opens the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. After that, your account stays active on the free tier subject to the free-tier limits.
If the customer portal is unavailable (for example, after a payment-method failure), email support@brainloot.app from your account email and we will action the cancellation within five working days.
14-day right to cancel (UK consumers)
If you are a UK consumer, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you 14 calendar days from the day after your purchase to cancel a distance contract for a paid digital service. Refunds for valid cancellations are made via Stripe within 14 days of the cancellation notice.
Important — digital content waiver. BrainLoot is supplied as a digital service starting immediately after purchase. By starting to use BrainLoot, you expressly request that we begin supplying the digital content within the 14-day cancellation window and you acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel under the Regulations as soon as the digital content is supplied. This waiver does not affect any other statutory rights you have, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if the service is not as described, of unsatisfactory quality, or unfit for the purpose you made known to us.
To exercise the 14-day right, send a clear statement of your decision to cancel to legal@brainloot.app. You may use the model cancellation form available on request.
Failed payment
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will retry the payment automatically. We may pause access to paid features (or cap usage at the free-tier limits) while the subscription is past due. Once the payment succeeds, full access is restored.
Plan changes and downgrades
When you change plan or seat count, Stripe applies prorations according to the policy displayed at the time of the change. Downgrades may reduce workspace, deck, card, or seat limits — see Terms of Service and the in-app billing surface for the limits in force.
Goodwill refunds
We may issue a goodwill refund in cases such as: a duplicate or wrong-amount charge, an account that was unused for the entire period and where we are notified within a reasonable time, or where we agree the service did not deliver an expected feature for an extended period. Goodwill refunds are at our discretion and do not waive our other rights.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are returned via Stripe to the original payment method where possible. Where the original method is unavailable, we will agree an alternative method with you (for example, by Stripe to a different card you control). Refunds typically appear within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank.
Disputes
If you are unhappy with a refund decision, email legal@brainloot.app and we will reconsider. UK consumers may also seek guidance from Citizens Advice or contact Citizens Advice.
